  • Birth of America

I haven't seen this game mentioned here ( http://www.birth-of-america.com/ ). It's developped by Philippe Thibaut at http://www.ageod.com , that is, the guy who made Europa Universalis. The game is turn based and lets you replay the American war of independance and the English conquest of Quebec. I suppose people here, who often like history, play a turn based game, could be interested by this game.
Its graphics are boardgame-like, and the simultaneous turns are interesting to play as your armies move and get ambushed by un(fore)seen enemies or take a fort according to plan while the enemy moved out to take one of your cities elsewhere.

Just bought this last night through Paradox's gamersgate service. Looks like a fairly in-depth treatment - good stuff for all the wargaming types that hang around here.

I am curious to see how well they have implemented the simultaneous turns, as we aren't exactly awash in games that have really successfully pulled that off.
