Two warlords are fighting over the magical land of llama llama . This land is a series of islands which you fight over in the battle screen.

The backstory...

The war started when the greatest Magician of the land, and teacher of wizardry, died some years ago. This left his two most gifted students Wizard A and Wizard B at either end of a power vacuum. Wizard A, hungry for power at any costs, embraced the ways of evil and named himself SupremeMagician. A nervous population gave Wizard B command of their armies, and
the previously tranquil country was plunged into conflict.

I thought it was going to be pretty popular when i chose it but there;s actually very little about it on net. Shame as it was one of favourite Amiga multiplayer hotseat games.

Fraid not.

I'm struggling for clues here as most clues make it sound like a generic TBS game (well i guess it is).

One wizard has access to the basic soldier, a stronger variant of the soldier, a Magician, and others including ultimately the archangel

OK the game was Celtic Legends by UBI Soft. Obviously something of a hidden gem judging by the lack of references to it. Probably my favourite Amiga hot seat game.
