I only discovered that one the other day when looking for information about something else. Its called "bouncing" and if an attack does not do a certain percentage of damage to a target it does no damage to that target.
At least that is one way to stop zerg-tactics.

As tempting as bombers look to me, I am starting to realize that it will take some time to get them. Thus, I've begun my first fleet buildup, going with the HF/CR doctrine that seems quite promising. My mission? I found a guy near me who, though he is far less developed than me, is sitting on a pile of a quarter million deut and turtling with MS, LL, and 20 or so HF. I think I'll show him what's up with a few IPMs and my soon to be built fleet. Luckily for me, he hasn't bothered to research any weapon or shield techs, and each of mine are at 7...

I'm guessing that they think we've got some kind of beef against the alliance, and not them personally. Their ingenious tactic is to leave the alliance in the hope of saving themselves (then maybe joining ours to find out what we've got
).
