But doesn't mafia usually begin with a kill, thereby reducing the number of players to an odd number? There has to be an odd number because otherwise you wouldn't be left with 3 at the last vote (should it go so far). That's why there's an even number of players, and I'm on the list!
Hopefully, the first part should be done tomorrow, but this will require a lot of thought and writing, so apologies if it stretches to Sunday.

I'm not sure you understand duke. You can't deprive th emafia of their first round kill. If you wish to be killed as well you must be the second victim in the first round. See Mafia 21 for example.Comment

Why not? I'm telling the mafia to kill me in the first round (all right, they don't get any choice whatsoever, and there will be no clues in the first section), and then they get to choose in their second round, provided they live that long. It's my mafia, and I have to die first! It'd be a boring mystery otherwise.

It seems fine to me for Duke to produce the first round at the same time as he notifies the mafia. That way the villagers can vote while the mafia prepare their kill lists.
I can't see why Ljube thinks the Mafia need to be involved in the kill in the first round

I have no problem with DoY starting with himself being killed. It just makes it feel more like a normal mafia game anyway.
