to answer your question I am playing in multiple universes and I've seen mention of this in the forum as well. It be permitted. Having more than one player in the same universe is a no-no.

If you want to see how a different strat works just start your second/third/...WTF in another universe.

The thing is I read the rules posted on the forum which says its ok to have more than one account in a universe, as long as its different people playing on each account, presumably so kids at school can play off the same IP. Just those accounts cant help or attack each other. I dont plan on trying to start another account in the same uni again though.

Solar satelites are 2000 crystals and 500 Deuterium each, WTF How can these things pay off???
This is about a lvl 9 Solar plant, which gives me +80 energy! (with +50 for the satelite?)

Cost of power plants ramp up sharply, while solar sats have a constant cost (the 10th solar sat still costs 2K/500. As I calculated they become profitable for a cold world at lvl14ish solar plant. However the solar sats can be destroyed so it's worth getting a few more levels of the plants. But for faster economy ramping it's more profitable to get solar sats and pray they don't get wrecked.

Use solar sats while you aren't in danger. N00b protection ends after you have 5000 points by which time you will not want to be relying on sats, but before then they are very useful.

I'm up to a couple missle launchers and a couple light lasers.

Anybody know if that's a good amount of defense? I'm freaked out by the idea of some bigger power just wrecking on me for a while, but I don't want to pull a North Korea.

From reading the forums, the best defence seems to be keeping your total resources under 100k and being active. People raid others who aren't active, but shy away from attacking active players. I've yet to figure out a solid reason why - perhaps because the person being attacked can send their resources elsewhere when the attack happens.

The key to defence is to make it cost them more for your resources than they can make actually stealing them. Any decent links would be nice. I can't find much concrete there.
