Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
Does anyone have some info on this game....I have found 2 faqs on the net and they are somewhat helpful but I'm really looking for a good strategy guide. BTW, I got this game at the Underdogs website and am enjoying it...it has a good story and lots of strategy variations.
I got a free copy of this game back in the days when I worked at Software Etc., and it was pretty interesting at the time. Very complex in terms of techs and units. Tried to reload it a while back, but the cd-rom had somehow corrupted itself
I know that some fans made a mod that completely rebalances the game, and apparently makes the AI more of a challenge. Don't recall the name offhand, but I'd look for it.
I remember completly editing a Unit. txt File
Random Memories:
-Some Houses have a clearly better Starting Planet than others
(Worst being the Jungle Planet IMO- it lacks Metal); I always customised the Red House which had less Space + Had to Fight Rebels in the Mountains, the Standard House has few Res on his Home Planet.
-Most Guides demand that you attack the Merchant Guild on your Planet to gain early Resources. However this only works if you can get self-sufficient quickly . Moving Goods from other Planets is a Pita if you ask me
- Research is not only expensive but outright dangerous. The Church forbids Key Techs quite quickly and their Inquisitor Units demand to be countered with Arty, unfortunatly any Space Losses took (me) looong to replace, if ever.
Use the Imperial Fleet for such Fights
- "Best" Position to get is Imperial Eye, build an Engineer and your House is established on the Enemy Home Planet
Thx for the tips....this game really is huge! I'm playing it at an easy level and am still a bit perplexed as to what to do. The diplomacy angle is the real ***** for me so far...I'm trying to get elected but all my favors and such don't seem to matter....oh well I'll just have to "persuade" em into seeing things my way.
Hoping to finish this game soon so I can try one of the mods which I suppose is an improvement to the gameplay...I think I'm going to start harassing the other players and forget about building and such for a while.
