Not according to dictionary.com ... and I don't think that's a typical english usage of the word. Crumbly would be used in that situation ...

... and what precisely do you make out of crumbs, anyhow.

Crumbly would actually mean disposed to crumble.

Crumby can also be derived from crumb in the meaning of inner part of bread. So it can also mean soft as one of my dictionaries indicates.

Dictionary.com is the dictionary generally agreed upon for use here ... it is my experience that almost any combination of letters can be found SOMEWHERE, in SOME dictionary. Hence the need for a standard one, and dictionary.com is widely available (ie on the net...)

Crumby is not a word I've ever heard used in the english language to refer to what you say. Crumbly is always the word used in such situations, as nothing is ever made OUT of crumbs, and one is always referring to the texture of said bread or whatever. Crumb does not refer to the inner part of the bread, but to a part of the bread (or other similar entity) that has broken off. It is not a crumb until it has broken off ...

I agree. Word to Ljube but no point awarded, methinks.

                OK

You are native speakers and I concede but I would like to have a better definition of slang in the future. I suggest that the following Dictionaries serve as reference:

Oxford Dictionary and Miriam Webster Dictionary.

The two are widely accepted as top authority for British and American variant of English.

Oh, and by the way, I looked it up in Merriam-Webster at the beginning and it didn't call it slang.

                    • dictionary.com should be the standard. It is freely available to all of us, online, and has been used in the past two or three threads.

M-W online is EXTREMELY forgiving as to slang/informal descriptions, I randomly looked up several words that are clearly slang/informal ("cruddy" for example) and they are not considered slang in at least one of their definitions.

Edit: Crummy is slang btw. Just so you know.
Crummy had a non slang entry IIRC.

Crumby did not. I'd say (as before) that Ljube sets the word and no point is awarded.

                        • It would be nice if the players expressed their opinion regarding the dictionary which we will use in this game.

Snoopy suggested Dictionary.com, I suggested a combination of Oxford and Miriam Webster dictionary. Once decided, this should be included in the rules.

Anyway, on to the next word. An easy one.
