Good point, you can take over for spiffor, although I've sent in orders already for him. Would you like me to share
We're sorry, the voices in my head are not available at this time. Please try back again soon.

        Why?

Allied attack can be more than 2 players; I thought that this was a counter. I knew that Joncha was going to attack either me or Jonny; I wanted him to meet the biggest fleet possible.

More specifically, Allied Defense is a ONE player thing. You choose one player to defend, and that's it - identical to an attack, except your ships are on his side. IE, you send your fleet to his homebase and watch for bad guys

The only way it can be a two player thing is if you both choose to allied-defense each other.

Had you wanted Spiffor in on it as well, you'd have had to choose one player for him to help on, the more-likely target. Better off would have been building a spy or shield or something (or even titan-pinging joncha )

I think the only reason that he would have been beaten unopposed is that he failed to submit a defensive OOB for his own planet, had he been spied. (In fact, you MUST submit a defensive OOB separate from the Allied Defense OOB - although it can be identical - in the event that you are attacked at home. It MUST be seperately specified however - if you are using Jamskiesque strict interpretations.)

I suggest appending something like this to the rules:

          Code:
All orders must contain ALL of the following elements, in order to be considered valid.
Any missing element risks an automatic loss in the event that element was needed.

          1. Build orders. If none are present, StockpileBPs is assumed.
          2. Home Defensive OOB. A missing Home Defensive OOB results in an automatic loss if you are attacked.
You may specify a "Default OOB" to the GM ahead of time to avoid this.
          3. Special Order. This consists of:
          A) Train Spy
          B) Build Shield
          C) Attack < Player X > with < Fleet N ([b]All[/b]) >, < Allies L,M >, and OOB < YYY-ZZZ >, < close/[b]default[/b]/back off >,
          < spread/[b]default[/b]/bunched >, < To the Death or [b]Not To the Death[/b] >, < Attack All Comers or [b]Not Attack All Comers[/b] >
          D) Allied Defend < Player X > with < Fleet N ([b]All[/b]) >, OOB < YYY-ZZZ >, < close/[b]default[/b]/back off >,
          < spread/[b]default[/b]/bunched >
          E) Use Shield
          4. Espionage Order. This consists of:
          a) Spy < Player X >
          b) Use CounterEspionage

Bolded features are considered defaults and will be used if not specified.

Each element 1.) through 3.) must be present in every valid set of orders.

                      commies

                      you can't beat the commies...

Everyone was out to get the commies today, but commies don't just take it lying down.

First Polly Siffan sent a spy at the Commies. The spy was countered.

                        Re: commies

Meanwhile, Colony I and Clone Point opted for stronger measures. They sent their entire fleets at the Commies, and this time their alliance was GOOD.

But they couldn't outsmart the Commies either. A Commie spy short-circuited the Colony I mainframe, forcing the Clone to face the Reds alone.

rule #1 of commie warfare: Commies always have devious plots that put the free world in peril, but when they go out on the battlefield they can shoot and hit everything but their target.

Looks like the Commies had expected to be hunting torpedoes or fighters, having closed in and spread out. BIG mistake.

rule #2 of commie warfare: if the commies go down they always take someone down with them.

More than 2/3rds of the Clone's fleets were pwned in TEH STRUGGLE. But they were all clones anyway.

With the Commie Empire now under control of the Clones, the universe was in an uneasy balance. Could the clones pump out new meat before the robots swarmed in?
