I just picked this up. It's quite enjoyable. And the eye candy. Yum!
I'm playing a Ranger right now trying to decide on my second profession. I'm leaning toward Necro or Mesmer. I really like the Catacombs. I'm level 5 now. I forgot my name already. Typed it in a hurry to get playing. I know my last name is Seraklon.
I noticed I get items that are unidentified. How do you identify them?Comment

Good that makes me feel a little better. They were all blue. I find the manual isn't that great for telling you what's what. No matter it is fun to learn as I go.Comment

Blue = special but fairly common
purple = uncommon
gold = rare
essentially ... Runes on (generally purple/gold) items may only be obtained by Expert Salvaging kits, not available in the early game ...<Reverend> IRC is just multiplayer notepad.
