You stated on another thread (Mafia I think) that you play to win. For me on the other hand, winning in not that important. I could have guessed a word at that point, but I was not positive that ginkgo was the only possibility. Had I guessed correctly I would have had to come up with a word, and I have yet to come up with a word that gives much trouble to any of you. I am happy with my place in the standings of Hangman, and if I never catch those ahead of me, so be it.
I am pleased to see that Paddy got it, hopefully the G was helpful

Ginkgo (full name ginkgo biloba) is a very old species of tree, probably the oldest species of tree that still lives. Last scion of its own phylum (Ginkgophyta), ginkgo is unique among trees as it has many features characteristic of ancient Jurassic fern forests and some features characteristic of modern broadleaf trees. Because it existed in the age of the dinosaurs and survived until our age, ginkgo is often called the "living fossil". It is famous for its resilience to adverse conditions in its environment, particularly to air pollution which makes ginkgo an ideal tree for modern cities. Ginkgo is also used for medicinal purposes.
Unlike other modern trees, ginkgo has a very old system of reproduction, but unique among trees. You see, there are mom ginkgo and dad ginkgo. Yes, there are distinct trees which are male or female. It takes 40 years for one such tree to become of age and capable of reproduction which is the main obstacle to spreading.Comment
