But there's a solution for that: M&B is extremely cheat-friendly. There is a built in character export and import system - export your character, and you'll find a text file with all your character's stats that can be easily edited. You can give yourself whatever skills, weapon proficiencies, money, and levels you want, and then import the character. The whole process takes 5 minutes. It's entirely possible to just edit your character to your specifications and enjoy high-level play immediately (though obviously not with the demo).

    • Hey, it's all about game experience. Cheating is only wrong in multiplayer.

I don't think the quests will be gone for good; they're just out temporarily. They can range from really easy to really hard.

In any case, the design philosophy has so far been "core game now, rpg elements later." I can't say what the final product will be, but judging from how the game has progressed so far I'd say that more such elements are in the works as the actual battle system approaches completion.

I'm having similar problems, and really wish I had kept ignoring this thread. Cool game, hopefully the finishing touches will be as good as what they've already done.

I've given up on archery, though. I mostly just do couched damage with an iron staff (for capturing purposes). I created the character as an archer, but the only time I even bring a bow into battle is during sieges.

        • Archery is godly at over 200 skill and a few ranks of power draw. Even couched lances have their disadvantages; for one thing, it's tough to lance people in rough terrain, and in a river you're toast. A mounted archer with that kind of skill can take out an entire war party himself in almost any terrain and never even get touched.

If I'm just using a missile weapon for sieges, I usually prefer a crossbow, as it takes less practice to be deadly with it, and you can line up a shot without worrying about the shot timing.

I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

There was a Wii up for grabs at the Sophomore class silent auction. We refrained.

                        • Since POTM isn't into Smash ( ) that's probably a good call.

We might still get one someday. I'd like to try all Wii Sports and stuff like that some folks like to knock. And it would be a way to get a DDR (in some version or other) or a rhythm game, or other stuff very different from what I can play on the PC. But its a real low priority right now. I'll wait for the price to drop
