Looks to me like you have 6 players, and I was volunteering to be the 8th if you can find a 7th. It seems to me that 8 players is the way to go if no round robin, else even if DrSpike plays the winner it would have to be after 2 rounds had passed (4 playoff leaving 2, 2 playoff leaving 1 opponent for DrSpike).

I missed LJ, but I'm still in favor of using a predetermined opponent against someone, by draw, to fill in the last spot.

However,

I have a small issue. I'll be on another one of those business trips, this time to Budapest, and will be out of commision from June 5th to June 11th (tenatively scheduled, could be another week in June), so I can start this, but there might be a delay.
