Well, for one thing, it won't allow me to set the monitor refresh frequency to 85 Hz. My eyes will get sore after a few minutes of play. For another, the mouse look is reversed, I can't unreverse it, and it's killing me. I never reverse the mouse, so the POV control feels very odd right now. I guess I'll get used to that, but my eyes can't really get used to 75 Hz.
Also, WTF is wrong with the screen positioning? The game screen is at least 10% off from my actual screen area, so a tenth of the view is simply missing from the righthand side. I could reposition it from the monitor's own controls, of course, but then everything else will be messed up.
The idea is intriguing, but the technicalities are a pain in the arse at the moment. Let's hope refreshlock will work... and that the game won't ship like this.
Radeon 9600, latest Catalysts, DirectX 9.0c, btw.
Let's go and see how it responds to Alt+Tab, then...
Refreshlock and restarting the game helped, the screen was only a bit off and my eyes didn't start hurting. However, all the game really was as far as I could tell was a platformer with a little twist (or gimmick, if you will). Probably a good game if you like the genre already, but I'm too powercrazed by now to give up on conquering Europe.
Cake and grief counseling will be available at the conclusion of the test. Thank you for helping us help you help us all!
