Well, I don't think it's a grey area any more. Rule 2 defines conditions for an update and Rule 3 specifies that after these conditions are met and before the update all additional letter guesses are invalid. Word guesses are allowed at any time.Comment

Yeah that's the way I do it. If nothing else greedy guesses after a letter guess that has not yet been confirmed or denied (at that late stage in the game) should be punished.
