You're a hard man to satisfy, Ludd. Yeah...all quests are basically the same, but so far, I don't mind. This game provides atmosphere, in a big way. And with that in mind, it is okay that quests are the same.

In fact, I don't remember any quests that weren't like that.
    There's also "Explore this area/cave/dungeon"

It's a good place to learn your skills, and to practice new ones learned. However, few MMORPGs have significant levels of new skills to learn after a few months of playing (well, after say 150-200 hours playing). PvE after that point is useful for gaining small amounts of gold and/or raw materials in some games ... and PvP skills usually vary quite dramatically from PvE, once you have the basics down. (In most games, not all.)
Sure, the future is in PvP, but that's in the nature of the game. Persons provide a better opponent than AI, it has always been like that, and I don't see that changing in the near future.

Just saying... My first character was alliance, and I enjoyed it alot. My second character was Horde, and I enjoyed it alot. My third character, however, wasn't half as fun as the other two, because I had done all the quests already.

      • The quests are fine in WoW I think. You are constantly moving to new areas and facing new challenges so it works.

        • So, I'm level 11 now. I have just arrived in Ironforge, after a quick stopover in the town of Thelsamar in Loch Modan. I must say that Ironforge is huge. The screenie is of The Great Forge, with me in the foreground.

I have been soloing until now, as I want to get good at this, before I team up with somebody, as to not embarass myself. GREAT GAME!!!!

          • Which talent tree are you going to specialize in?

            • As for grouping...you're a warrior, so your role is to "tank".

You'll draw "aggro" (get monsters to hate you), so they hit you and not anyone else, like the "squishies" (mage, priest, etc). You have more health and more armor, so it makes sense for them to hit you.

Ideally you'll want to team with a healer of some sort...Paladin, Druid, Priest. It's still possible to play with others successfully, just can be a bit trickier.

Make liberal use of taunt and such to make sure the mobs attack you, not your group.

              • The best warrior skill is Mortal Strike - spec for that and get the highest max damage (not dps) weapon you can find.

On another note, noggenfogger elixir + deviate fish = a freakin tiny mounted warlock. If only I'd had a gnomish shrink ray I think he would have dissappeared.

I'm lvl 58 right now, but I'm willing to bet I would still whoop up on Asher in pvp .

                    • Shaman?

                      I hope you're a frost-shock spamming whore, they're my favorite to asskick.

I looked at your allakhazam profile. You aren't even close to being in the same class as me. You'd be lucky to get me below 60% health in a duel.

For the record, I picked a random class/race when I started. I didn't purposely go shaman so I could spam frost shock FTW. Besides, as a pally you should be way more concerned with my purge than my frost shock, but I guess then I would have to assume that you actually know how to play your class correctly . My experience is that only about 5% of players actually understand how to play well, and the ratio gets even worse with pallies, all night elves, hunters, and (yes I agree) shamans.

                          • Apologies to Asher.
I reread my post and I'm being an *******. I don't mean it. I actually just finished running LBRS with IDIOTS and I guess I'm in a bad mood. One guy (a retarded shaman, yep) actually said, and I quote, "no offence [sic] to anyone but the tauren dance is like a female negro dance."

Sometimes I wish I could just reach out and slap people for being stupid.

                            • I don't really mind purge, the blessings don't make that big of a difference. I like it when the Shamans use it, it wastes their mana faster than mine.

If I had a dime every time a Shaman ghost-wolfed to run away...

Arms, I think. I have picked my first two talent points in arms. Then perhaps fury. I'm just not a defensive person
