You should join the Eventis dip game when the current one wraps up (which should be any day now).~ If Tehben spits eggs at you, jump on them and throw them back. ~ Eventis ~ Eventis Dungeons & Dragons 6th Age Campaign: Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 3, Chapter 4: (Unspeakable) Horror on the Hill ~

Just hold on to your copy for another 10 years. It will worth 20 times as much.(\__/) 07/07/1937 - Never forget

i assume these prices are based on excellent condition?
My old copy of 1914 with the map torn into 4 sections, and some units missing, is probably not worth much?"A person cannot approach the divine by reaching beyond the human. To become human, is what this individual person, has been created for.” Martin Buber

This is a bit OT, but I got Settlers of Catan for Christmas from my brother "in law" (we're not married!).
It's really good, and I was wondering if anyone else at 'poly had played it/heard of it.
I used to love Kingmaker, and played a lot in the eighties. I first played it as a kid in the mid seventies and fell in love with the heraldic counters. The castle names in the game have stayed with me for ever. Two days ago my GF and I drove through Masham in Yorkshire. "Scrope had his castle here, according to Kingmaker", I reminisced.
Kings and Things was a wierd but fun fantasy wargame with silly units (Killer Squirrel) and a random hex-board, like Settlers of Catan.
I also played Sniper from SPI. A unit was an individual soldier, and what I remember most were the 'panic' rolls, that if failed would make him run off in a random direction.

The heraldic counters in Kingmaker are great, although the game itself, um, leaves much to be desired. We had, however, a variant called Drinkmaker. It's a drinking game. "Oops, the king gets killed. Chug!"
Kings and Things is a fun, chaotic, and mindless little game. The units are downright wacky.

POTM was over at a friends house, and it turns out that a group of them were playing Diplomacy!!! (the board game, not the Paradox offering) She told me she was Russia, and that she and Austria were fighting Turkey and Italy, until Turkey got bored and left (cause Turkey was an 11 YO) then she betrayed Austria and joined with Italy to take apart Austria.
Needless to say I was fascinated - shes never been very interested in strategy games, other than the historical tidbits (like EU2 or Vickie events, or the maps) but she seems to have gotten into the interpersonal aspects of Diplo, with its deals and betrayals
Also says something maybe about gender and gaming. Hard to get women to care about weapons stats, but give them a simplified combat model, and an emphasis on scheming....."A person cannot approach the divine by reaching beyond the human. I have noticed that girls are much more interested in Diplomacy/Civ (the Avalon Hill board game.. which needs rerelaesed) and Settlers of Catan than they are war games..
In fact, I have found similiar numbers of women and men who like these nonwar strategy games.. while it is mostly men (worst than physics even) who like war games..
