A tough choice for many of these spots. Quite a few of them have changed from last vote.

That's a bit of a shock.

Now that it's down to ~$20 Aus I picked it (and the VC version) up. I can live with it and I do like the fair-sized maps but I certainly wouldn't have thought of it as a top 10, let alone #3?

Ok, admittedly I pretty much suck at it, but still ...

SMAC is still such a great game.

just finished a game last night. took over an empire 3 times the size of mine. Of course he was technologically inferior . actually not really, he just hadn't updated his units yet. they still had those res-3 defense units. not a match against my drop shard infantry.

although I never play civ2 anymore (because of civ3), it still ranks as my top. although eventually the total number of hours I have played smac will surpass that of civ2.

I suppose eventually I'll have to list SMAC as my favourite game, not civ2.

Well it's favourite games not most hours played. If you don't want to put the game top which has the most hours then don't.
