I agree, SP is usually just a tutorial.
Playing with thinking opponents in MP is the best. (for games where MP makes sense anyway)

But you have to have a fun group of people, or you aren't going to have any fun. We do play with almost any nub that wants to, but if the person is a jerk, we don't play with them in the future.

You have to keep adding nubs or you run out of players eventually.

I have met quite a few of my MP buds IRL. It adds to the experience. And you can never have enough friends.

You are playing Everquest2 unless your posts in that thread are just spam. That's not SP.

I don't know. If it's anything like the first Everquest it might aswell be.

It can be hard as hell to get someone to even acknowledge your existance in that game, sometimes.

It's what happens when you put a thousand anti-social geeks together into an environment. They all make a silent agreement to pretend that everyone else isn't there and shuffle around avoiding eye contact.

Fortunetly I grew out of that and now only play MMORPGs which have PvP or Roleplay, and actually require some sort of meaningful interaction between players.

But grouping was very prevalent in EQ as far as I've heard.

It can often be hard to find a group outside of close friends or a guild, even if they are 20 people flagged as looking for a group.

You have round them up one by one through direct tells and pull them all together, or they'll otherwise just continue doing whatever it is that they're doing alone and not saying a word.

Hell, there's sometimes half a dozen people yelling "LFG!!!!" at the same time and not a single one of them gets it into their head to actually start a group.

                          yeah that's a problem I have in EQ2

I did find a group on the newbie island. And we even formed a raiding party. I thought that was pretty cool. But often times I feel peopel move to fast for my tastes. I like to take it slow and cautious in rpg's.

But when I moved to Qeynos, it's like you said. There's people flying around everywhere and no one stops to notice you are talk.

                            SP

Don't have the time anymore for MP beyond the random PBEM game.

Wife + Career = No time, especially guaranteed time for MP games. Can still sneak in the random SP game usually, but a set time to meet up with friends online? No way.

Hmm, strange, I always thought EQ was more group based, with it's 'thing' being good PvE and high level raid content with groups.
