  • From my experience it's for all cities, not just a specific town...
The governors doesn't even know which town they're controlling, since when I for example transport a governor from one town to another and talks to him as soon as possible, he just says: "I've heard a new govenor has arrived in < insert city name >, which is good news" (or something like that), even though HE is the new govenor
And I get the same treatment everywhere, so it doesn't feel town-specific...
This space is empty... or is it?

    • I just noticed that it's this game that keeps setting num lock to off... I had no idea until now, and it keeps annoying me

Yeah, that happened to me. Kinda funny.

        • Just played it for a few minutes last night right before I was off to sleep. Could they not even afford to have a voice actor to do the cutscenes? Man, that made the CS horrid, or they just seemed like they were not complete or engaging.

Seems a little easy; the first three ships and sword fights were not even slightly hard. How in the heck do I save the game? Yeah, I'm too lazy to read a manual.
We're sorry, the voices in my head are not available at this time. Please try back again soon.

          • Click on the Map button while out to sea, and then pick the CD disk looking icon on the bottom, then save in one of the Slots. No, you can not name a save game, being like the original game back in 1987.
And as for hardness, the Apprentice Level is like a tutorial.

Another player playing on the second to top level (probably Bucaneer perhap) had his but handed to him.
So, right in step with the old game, but with the animation having a Fixaxis language and subtitles (or gibberish like Sim City, I guess, since I do not have that game).

And the game is fun, but some things may have been changed around a little to make it harder.

            • Yikes! I played Swashbuckler and the game got really, really hard! I actually think the jump from Rogue (IIRC) was a bit too high. I'm getting hosed by smaller crews and ships no matter what.
Cake and grief counseling will be available at the conclusion of the test. Thank you for helping us help you help us all!

              • Five attempts to play, five CTDs.
Reinstalled between each--and I simply do NOT need to upgrade anything--I just did that recently and I'm over the specs for the game.

Yep... when playing Swashbuckler I'm having a very hard time beating anything, except ship combat and land combat, while on Rogue it's just too easy...

Land combat is also too easy, yesterday I played on Swashbuckler (just started a new game today) and had a fight where I had about 260 pirates, while they had 360+ soldiers... I won big time

I had lots of CTD's when I first installed the game. I removed Service Pack 2 for XP and the game worked fine.

Ugh! Perhaps I should wait for them to patch the game to make it more compatiable with SP2?

                          • It's working fine with my SP2, only crashed once but I couldn't repeat the crash when I tried.

                            • I've got SP2 installed also, but so far it has not crashed...

                              EDIT: "minor" error fixed
