For the budget price you could get them for, I would heartily recommend both. With the available patches and mods they will each provide many hours of entertainment.

Actually... yeah, Grumbold is onto a good one here If you can get them for 5-10 currency units each, then they're ok value. Your time could be better spent though

I also STRONGLY suggest you don't buy Morrowwind unless you love being bored to tears.

Morrowind is fun. It would be much more fun if it wasn't for its long loading times and fondness of crashing.
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

Morrowind would be good if it was set in the Forgotten Realms and had more interesting character dialogue.

But the setting and lack of interesting interaction turns me off every time I try to play it.

The world doesn't need another Forgotten Realms game IMO. Its one of the things I didn't like about Baldur's Gate 2, that lame setting, with elves, orcs, trolls and those freaks with furry feet. Been there done that.

There's alot more in the forgotten realms than elves orcs, trolls and halflings. You must not of played enough games in that setting.

Yes, I have played enough games in that setting. Enough is enough, lets move on, please... A Call of Cthulhu CRPG could be fun, no? Or Transhuman space? Ok, that one is a bit too hard core for most people...

                  Yes, "settle".

KOTOR will be a very good investment, as I've found out over the past few days

Well, I'm pretty sure that KOTOR2 will be out for XBOX and PC at the same time. And since I've already beaten KOTOR twice, as both dark and light, I'm not going to get KOTOR.

I don't think so. AFAIK the XBox version will be out later this year, while the PC version isn't out until February.

Ahem. Not only is it the 21st century, how is not having a PC relevant to being "with the times?"

The thing about Morrowind is in some ways its more like a book than a game.
In that you, the player have to roleplay it to get the most out of it. So i guess if your not from a book background(or a pen+paper rpg one), then as a pure computer game, it can come across a little ......easy and sterile?

I've always had a good imagination, i love reading and have played many p+p rpgs, and i have a soft spot for the Elderscrolls games, Morrowind being the most accessible one to date(all though i like daggerfall more for its failed ambition).
If you found KOTOR a little too linier sometimes, you wont find the same with Morrowind, plus all the fan made stuff and expansion packs - easily 100+hours of rpg fun.

Still Oblivion, the next instalment in the elderscolls saga, might be the rpg to end all rpg's. for more info elderscrolls site

I wonder what the recommended requirements would be.
