  • Clues that were sent out through PM

    Nikolai
You glanced over your favorit king in the Rembrandt painting and something caught your eye. You looked more closely and you found this:

A stain of slightly odd color in the left cornor of the frame ... Looks like paint mixes with blood ... Pondering you walked back upstairs, and there, on the floor in front of the door next to your room, you found another stain, the same odd color ...
(This one is provided by the King Vampire himself.)

    GeoModder

You noticed a half peeled grapefruit a couple steps from Snowflake's body. That reminds you of something ... Now what is it ... The smell ... Yes. You seem to remember the smell of grapefruit somewhere ... Was it in the kitchen?
(This is a false clue to stress the importance of grapefruit, but link to Hercules. Though GeoModder has changed it.)

    DrSpike

From your professional experience you feel that the blood staints could not be from Ms. Snowflake. You also know that her room was in the third floor, while the other male members were staying in the second floor.
This is an operational clue, just to let you guys know that there are actually two vampires.

Since the first round people obviously had no clue of anything and were killing their most valuable players so I went ahead to give two most important clues the next round.

    Gunner

Because of your suspicion of Mr. Tacticus you are watching him very closely. Something about his black turtleneck sweater outfit was bothering you ...
This clue obviously points out that GT is wearing turtlenecks for the obviouse reason - to prevent people from seeing the vampire teethmarks on his neck. But again Gunner changed it a bit.

    Hercules

At the breakfast you noticed Mr. Kassiopiea was talking to Mr. Smilie quietly. Remembering his absence last night, you walked toward him. They stopped talking when you approached, but you overheard a couple words: "... tower again." Closed to him, your sensitive nose seemed to pick up something else ... A scent of grapefruit ...
It may be interpreted to be pointing to kass, but if you think really carefully, it could also link to somebody else ...

    • Yes, by now you should all know that the King Vampire was Smiley. (Great play btw Smiley )

After drinking the blood of snowflake Smiley went a little crazy and went for another victim and thus GT became a new vampire. (A good choice.) The second round is very interesting with many coincidents. After killing the doctor and the secretary, the group lost their communication with the out world, and any means to tell more about the deaths. Two wise people choose to stay with others. Hercules chose to go to Kass's room, and Kass went to the Kitchen to find Hercules. Unfortunetaly they didn't meet each other and both had to go back to their own room. I'm not sure what is it that was in the blood of the bioscientist, both vampires chose him to be their next victim. GT moved first and got him. When Smiley went to his room, he is already dead. (These were all in the story.)

Smiley had played very well so far, with the unfortune of not being able to get a new vampire. He was about the only person who was really searching the castle, for he was the only one who really has a motivation, that is to find the answer why he was different from the others. He roamed the entire island, every room of the castle, and provided maps. GT copied the map, hinting he was a copy of the vampire. Then Smiley found the piano and the cradle. The sentence that he was hearing a soft female voice singing lullaby, was a dead giveaway on my part. I deliberately did it, for the story, also for helping you guys. And it had its affect I guess, for everybody immediately chose him as the target to be excuted, although nobody really registered him as the King vampire. Somehow that paragraph went into your unconscious and resulted an unanimous vote other than GT's non vote. When Smiley was found, he had found the last piece of the keys to the mystery to his life. But kass didn't know anything, so his action was quite different. All the thoughts were real. He was actually afraid that the others were vampires, indicating he was not one himself.

After Smiley and Kass were gone, Hercules again chose to stay with somebody else. This time he had chosen GT. While GT could have eaisly kill Hercules, Hercules would know that he was the vampire. But GT had a more clever choice. He picked Gunner as his next victim. Gunner died when Hercules was on his way to the main chamber where guest rooms are. When Hercules first knocked on the door, GT didn't answer because he didn't came back. It was a long way from the kitchen to the main chamber, so anybody could have killed Gunner. It could be Hercules who went to GT's room after killing Gunner. It could be GT who killed Gunner before Hercules arrived. It could be Nikolai who had not been seen by anybody for the night.

GT again played well by voting last. Hercules picked Nikolai and Nikolai voted Hercules for revenge, leaving GT the one who was safe to determine everybody's fate. After they burned Nikolai, I wanted to give Hercules one more chance to survive. I was hoping they would fight and only one survived. I would then have a different ending of the story. One person would go back mainland by boat, without the readers knowing if he was a normal person, or a vampire.

I have tried to make everybody a little suspicious from the beginning, such as the big suitcase of Dr. Spike and the cold hands of Gunner, etc. But Smiley should stand out over time. The way he was always lost in his thought was supposed to match the paragraphs when King Vampire reflected about his lifes (the ones with "he"). He was the only person who finds any real information about the history of this castle. He was never really afraid like the others, just lost in thought. When he was killed, the paragraphs for the King Vampire had stopped.

              • A few comments on the way the game went:

                - I deliberately refrained from killing Shogun until right at the end because, firstly, I thought it might be suspicious if he were to die immediately after he started accusing me, and secondly, given that I was the only other person on the island with security expertise, it would seem a little odd for him to die quickly while I survived, especialy since I was the one maintaining the cameras.

                - I chose to kill Heresson because there was no reason I should; he hadn't accused me or anything, so killing him would not point to me in any way whatsoever.

                - The main reason why I chose to kill Gunner in the end was that he'd become convinced that I was the vampire, so I thought it prudent to get rid of him before he could cast another vote for killing me; also, with Hercules sleeping in my room, I expected that it would deflect suspicion away from me. As it turned out, it worked.

                - Smiley made a good choice in making me a vampire on the first round; if he hadn't, I could have made his life very difficult with the cameras I was setting up, but once I was a vampire, all of my efforts were devoted to doing as little as possible while making it seem I was trying my best.

                • Yep, picked GT because he was the biggest threat. Heresson was targeted for the same reason GT went after him, though perhaps I should of anticipated that. He had hardly posted anything, thus leaving few clues. Geomodder and Doc were actually higher up on the target list, but the democratic process took good care of them before I even needed to do anything.

Well played Smiley and General Tacticus.
