  • Mafia 27 Sign-up

The former attempt at a new Mafia game by Sheep went awry, so I've taken up the task of GMing a second attempt. (According to Ljube this is the 27th Mafia game we're having, excluding the aborted one.)

Not sure how many I'll take, 20-24 probably.

    In!

You might want to post the rules you want to use though, Sheep's rules isn't entirely in I suppose?

I'm going back to the good old-fashioned Mafia rules we had before the Sheep Interregnum. No vote changes, one execution a day, two mafias, one kill a day with the two mafia taking turns. If two mafia manage to survive, they both win.

Hmmm I think I'll continue to serve grapefruit juice at my little snowflake inn.

A heads-up - this one may be influenced by Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code, which I'm reading right now. At least in the clue department. I'll try not to overdo it, since it'd favour those who've read the book too and because to get the most obscure ones you'd have to be an expert of symbology like Langdon or a master cryptologist like the woman whose name completely escapes me at the moment. You've heard this whine before, yes, but I have to say still that it's hard to get some decent clues out there when you don't have the resources or the ability to create 24 deep characters, all of whom should be equally suspicious.

Does anyone recall a Mafia game where the clues were particularly good? I could try to learn from and expound on that.

BTW, will we have the Superman rule? For those not knowing what that is, it's a rule used in Mafia "real life". One person is Superman, and can save one person each night, included himself. If the Mafia try to kill that person, he/she survives the night and noone is killed.

Of course, as Superman doesn't know who's Mafia, he might save one of them... And I don't have to point out it would be a bad thing to reveal himself as Mafia? Think of it: The Mafias suddenly has a good target, and the person himself is suspisious to the others probably...

It's a nice feature in RL, haven't tried it on the Internet yet. But as it's mostly popular among the girls in my experience, I guess you'll say no...?

                Hooray!

I'll be the bulk liquor distribution... person.
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

I'll go back to being the INN KEEPER. I seem to last longer in that role. hahahahahhaa

The french revolution thread had so many clues, some obscure and some pretty blatant and would be a great example. What made it work was the length of the story. So long that even some of the blatant clues were lost in the story. And some people saw clues in almost every line that didn't really exisit. With a short story, every clue seems to stand out and seems blatant.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

Come on rah. Why do we have to compete with each other.

Who says it can't be two inns?

You don't have competition if you don't have two inns.
