  • What's a good site that reviews games (for free of course)

I think my subscription to CGW is running out, I probably won't renew. I never have time to read it anymore anyways. I used to read it in my last job during down time. But with my new job, I never have any down time. And for some reason, I never read when I'm at home . But I will read the internet. Strange.

It's annoying gamespot charges money now. And I'm not a big fan of their format/interface either.

    Any other good sites?

Also, are there any sites that predict release dates for games? Gone gold used to be good, but they never update it anymore. I'm curious when WOW, and Everquest 2 come out. I'm guessing both will be out in December before christmas.

wargamer.com the jeff vitous et al site. They cover a fairly wide variety of strategy games, not just war games.

Quartertothree.com - infrequent, but good reviews, by Tom Chick. All genres. Also a very good forum.

But you don't have to pay for the reviews.

I like Game Rankings they compile the reviews from multiple sites, so its more "objective" in a sense. For instance, "Rome: total war" has an average of 92%. Man, that game looks sweet! You can even click on the reviews links to read them.

I agree. Their reviews are detailed and very well written. If someone recommends a game to me, I'll check their review to see if they agree before deciding whether to buy a copy.

I just waned some more reviews on Sims2 before I bought it. Thanks for the replies.

                And yes I bought it.

I felt so gay going in the store buying this game. . I felt the need to buy a gun along with it to prove my manliness.

You must live in america! Or a completely lawless place

Someone else here once recomended metacritic.com , and i've found it useful to get a quick overview on a game.

You didnt hear? The Labour party has dumped the liability that is Mr Blair and Dr.Spike is now our leader.

The first thing he did was rush anti-Sims laws through the house.
The interesting thing to note is that in the small print of the paper lobbied, the only legal copies that can be held are by our new Prime Minister himself!!!

So the sleeze and corruption seems to continue

i think i'm going to buy it(on the black market ).

Gamesdomain(.co.uk) used to be a great site until yahoo bought it out. Now it has a really dumbed down front end and its difficult to find all the great and indepth older reviews from over a few years ago
