    • S, although plurals (well, with S at least) aren't allowed in Hangman.

      In fact, K.

      • Who says plurals aren't allowed? (and it would help if you un-bolded one of your guesses)

          • It's standard Hangman practice. It's just to stop people having illegal four-letter (or whatever is one below your minimum number of letter allowed) words with an S on the end so that they qualify.

I struck out my S too! Admittedly it doesn't look very good because it's only one letter, but still - I did it.

Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?

                • I think plurals should be allowed.

And all other forms such as present tense third person singular forms that end with an S. In fact, all standard words of the standard English language must be allowed.

                  • What's the point of having a word limit then? Or would you rather we scrapped that too?

                    • I don't know. Perhaps we should try.

Anyway, word limit and plurals aren't linked. And whoever gives a plural form concedes one guess from the beginning (someone always guesses S).

                      • But confronted with _ A _ E S, how many different variations of letters can you think of to fit? It would be far too easy for the unscrupulous player to change the word when so many things can fit. Not that I'm suggesting anyone here is unscrupulous, but it ought to be a level playing-field.

                        • Well word changing is irrelevant - the game functions on trust. However, I agree with Duke's points on plurals generally.
