  • Supreme Ruler 2010 vs. Super Power 2: geopolitical simulations clones

For those who were searching a serious modern geopolitical game or wished to explore how our world works, 2004 is your year.

There's a GalCiv vs. MOO3 kind of competition coming. SR2010 and SP2 are both coming in no time, both of them are profound turn-based strategy games going on in the real modern world, global geopolitical simulations. More than that: both of them are the sequel of a previous game of the same name (the first Supreme Ruler was done for veeery old computers). Even more: both are made to be very modable and have multiplayer!

So what will each of these niche games bring? Some new genetic material is coming to the harsh TBS gaming world and it seems like rich stuff
Go GalCiv, go! Go Society, go!

Hmm,ya think we'll need a special forum for either?

I guess that it's a matter of worthiness of the forum for Apolyton, like Galactic Civilizations and Master of Orion 3. MOO3 got its forum because of its initial fanbase, and GalCiv got his when it got popular and took MOO3's seat. And for what they brought to TBS history.

So I guess that at least one of them will show its worthiness and we may get a section called "Modern geopolitical sims" or something

PS: I played SR2010 beta, and it definitely is very innovative and excellent. But while its surprisingly straightforward interface makes everything easier, it is a bit like Paradox games that bring mostly serious players.
Go GalCiv, go! Go Society, go!

          Seems like two interesting games.
