Acquire is great fun. I think the copyright was bought by AH.

Mr friends and i spent hours on Mr. President. Feudal not so much, though I like the way it looked - the closest ive come to miniatures gaming, I guess.

I loved this series called Gamemaster I think by AH... I'm not sure if I got the title right, it had games like Fortress America, Shogun!. and of course the infamous Axis & Allies. I had them all except the Roman one. I'd love to get my hands on that one to complete the collection.

Shogun is great, would like to have it

Axis and Allies is all right, but a little simple

so we're on to AH games now. Quite alright - i looked at their website, they still mention Acquire.

AH games I remember owning were 1914, AfrikaKorps, and "After the Holocaust" (a civish post nuclear war boardgame)

                africakorps was great

I love the SL and ASL franchise

as well as Republic of Rome, and the Civilization and Advanced Civilization board games (I have something like a ~75% winning percentage and have played ~50 games)

3rd Reich was also good (never played a full game though), as was battle of the bulge

i actually got a neighbor kid to play afrikakorps occasionally - just simple enough for the masses. With a very elegant supply system, I think. I found it in a box in the basement the other day, its still a nice game.

Oh yeah, in those days of computer gaming, it's very difficult for me to find someone who's willing to play out a good old fashioned boardgame especially those more 'complicated' such as wargames. Most people, if they do play boardgames, often prefer something more simple such as Clue. Nothing wrong with that but I yearn for old days where my Napoleonic armies win the day at Waterloo .

One good game - Diplomacy And oh how can I forget Alesia?
