It took me a while to finally dig up this thread - though the last post was only 9 days ago.
Any way, I just received another email today from Firaxis asking me to be a Beta Tester for Pirates (I applied a few months back when Firaxis was first looking for testers)....but this time they (Firaxis) assigned me a login and password for their Beta Testing Site - though I have not, as of yet, been formally accepted on as a Pirates! Beta Tester.
My question is this: Has anyone else here in Aployton receive this second email from Firaxis today?
Can it actually be that I will finally be picked up as a beta tester?
I guess time will tell.

I've applied for tonnes of betas but few were successful. Maybe this is less hyped though, so you could be lucky.Comment

I've applied for two beta's, one beta was cancelled, the other one I was picked, but never actually got the game running... (it was a MP beta, but something was failing when trying to play a MP game, don't remember how far I got before I gave up)This space is empty... or is it?Comment

I've signed up a number of times to be a beta tester for the civ series games, but this is the first time that Firaxis has moved me to the "second stage" (if you will) concerning actually being accepted as a beta tester.
A few years back I was accepted to beta test a new remake of Risk (not Risk II), but a new game. I even signed the NDA, but I guess the plans for the game died in the planning stages...____________________________

Congrats Wittlich. I realize you may not be able to tell us much, but is there any chance any of the game is modible? Like graphics or anything?

I too have spent 20+ years with the US government working in the Intelligence field.
Stateing that I am a beta tester is not a Atari/Firaxis corporate secret. What else have I revealed about the project that I will be working on? Please inform me, because quite frankly, I see no purpose to your post except for going through the motions of placing a post.
