  • Which TBS games are on your hard drives currently?

So...I'm basically looking for recommendations. Due to reasons of a personal nature, I haven't played games, or visited Apolyton for ages.

And now that I again have the urge to play, I find my old selection boring.

So...what do you guys play - TBS-wise - these days. Anything good and new that I should dow... erm buy??

      At the moment, none.

        Wow, Asmodean....long time no see.

        I think that you'll like:
        Dominions II
        Hearts of Iron

Two that I'm currently spending way too much time on.
We're sorry, the voices in my head are not available at this time. Please try back again soon.

Surprisingly, only CtP2 at the moment. But I reformatted my windows partition recently. Civ1 and 2 are in rar archives somewhere, while SMAC, Civ3 and CtP1 are not installed, just my CDs for them here.

Hearts of Iron isn't a TBS

                    What I have:

                    Master of Magic
                    Master of Orion 2
                    Colonization
                    Dominions 2
Silent Storm (If you want to count tactical games)
                    Battle for Wesnoth

                        Too many to list.

If you're a typical ACS TBSer, Steel Panthers: World at War (freeware, heavy tactical-based TBS hex-strategy with hundreds of pre-made scenarios and dozens of -campaigns) and Hearts of Iron (RTS on a global map, heavy emphasis on diplomacy, technology and logistics) are decent ww2-themed games. Rise of Nations is a classical-styled RTS which gained much popularity here in 2003. It's been very, very quiet on the PC gaming front this year, not a single excellent (worth over 89 points, subjectively judging) game has been released, and not a single good (> 79) TBS one.

Dominions 2, and that's basically it.

I don't have anything installed that you would have missed in the last 8 months since you disappeared. Not much happening TBS-wise in the gaming world.

And the only game I have on order is a wargame from HPS.
