Chaunk has another 24 hours (from now) to get his orders in, or the first round will be posted without him. As he hasn't sent a default OOB in for this game, or built any actual ships, it will likely be open season on him; get your licenses now!

I think that if he doesn't report in time his bases should simply disappear in the deeps of space and no other Overlord be allowed to take them over.

In case someone already was planning on attacking him, let that Overlord then have the opportunity to change his orders.

Back in the States after a day on the plane. Wow, and I thought I'd be needing that order queue.

If Chaunk sends no orders in, he sends no orders in. Simple as that. It will will be treated no differently to his failing to send orders on any other turn.

Chaunk has another 30 minutes to send in orders, or else the turn is posted without him.

                      Round 1: First Blood

The struggle for galactic supremacy opened with a bang, as two new Overlords chose to launch attacks against their neighbours. Both fights would be extremely bloody, although they were of wildly differing lengths and results.

First, Overlord Jamski, whose family claimed descent from the First Empire of forgotten ages, launched a massive strike against the renowned House of Spike.

Spike takes 13 hits and is destroyed.

Jamski is victorious, and captures all of Spike’s bases.
Spike’s fleet fought bravely, but though they had the advantage of numbers, Jamski’s lasers struck a crushing first blow that eliminated 60% of Spike’s fleet. Return fire destroyed half of Jamski’s ships, but the damage had been done, and further fire from Jamski’s lasers and torpedoes eliminated the Spike fleet. With Spike’s defense forces gone, Jamski’s troops marched in, and soon a new flag flew over the domains of the House of Spike.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the galaxy, Overlord Geomodder coveted the domains held by the young Overlord Whoha. Massing his forces, he launched a surprise attack across the border dividing their domains… or so he thought.

Geomodder takes 38 hits and is destroyed.

                      Whoha repulses Geomodder’s assault
As it turned out, it would be Geo who got the shock of his life. Outnumbered and utterly out-manoeuvred by Whoha’s fighter swarms, his ships were annihilated without even managing to scratch the enemy fleet, and Geo was forced to return to his home systems via escape pod to plan his revenge.

Meanwhile, all other Overlords took the opportunity to build, with the exception of Overlord Chaunk, who apparently spent his time getting blind drunk in his villa. In the absence of orders, his underlings merely stockpiled resources for him.

It doesn't change the outcome, GT, but I thought my 'spread' formation only gave Whoa's fighters a x2 advantage, not a x4?
And also, in the first round Whoa's torpedo's should have an attack value of x0.5 I thought? 5 instead of 10?

Edit: How can Jamski have 9 Battle ships to start with? That represents 27 BP's. That whole battle against DrSpike must be revised.

You would be correct in both instances, but torps get a x2 bonus vs. lasers, and fighters get a x2 vs. torps. You just had the bad luck to choose precisely the wrong OOB for the first three rounds, and lost you fleet as a result.

(of course, it didn't help that Whoha's fleet had you outnumbered by almost two to one... and it's ironic that you didn't pick up the one genuine mistake, which was in your HP numbers. Didn't change anything, though...)
