And this, ladies and gentlemen, are how net rumours are started.
There was a dev diary (I forget where) that said the plotline would involve more travel between the planes - think Planetscape.

The voices in my head told me that Bioware decided that graphics were too much trouble and changed it into a text-based game, a la Zork. Also, killer robot ninja cows play a big role in the plot.
Been playing alot on the eternal war arena server. Good fun. I've come to the conclusion that halfing ranger(5)/monk(20) focues in kamas is the best for PvP... atleast on this server.
Great defense. Arrow deflection. Good spoting. Lots of attacks. Quick movement. Can dual wield. Can cast true sight, and other 1 level ranger spells. I was up against 4 archers - unable to do their usual corner hugging stealth tactics because of my quick movement, they where reduced to running around in circles while their buddles deperately tried to hit me. I could usually kill atleat 1 or 2 of them before they could take me down.
I find for PvP nothing beats pure Monk, level-for-level. Its so good it should be banned. 50 Spell Resistance? Insane AC? Ãœberlightspeed? You don't even NEED any gear, and anything you do have just makes it better.

1) The crappy metaspam is an affront to the true manner of the artform. - Dauphin That's like trying to overninja a ninja when you aren't a mammal. CAN'T BE DONE. - Kassi on doublecrossing Ljube-ljcvetko

A few levels in ranger does alot, though. You get dual wield (if you want to dual wield kamas, which is a good idea as a halfling) two prefered enemies (I'm going with elf and halfling) and the ability to train the spotting skill higher then you would otherwise.
If I'm making a power-monk he's going to have INT 8 anyway, so I'm not going to waste my precious skillpoints on Spot. That one skillpoint per level is going into Dicipline... OR stockpile them all till level 40 and that the last level as Rogue (übercheese) for a Monk 39/Rogue 1, when you then put all of them into Use Magic Device, and you can use all those lovely forbidden items, like Wands and Level 9 Mage Scrolls
And I have to say the standard-list monk-gloves you can get are pretty superior gear too.
Erg, just thinking about it makes me shudder.
This kind of build is what gives DMs nightmares.

Well, spot is useful in PvP if you don't want to stand around like a dork waiting for the archers to sneak attack you before you can chase after them and hope to get to them in time before they duck behind a corner and stealth again.
I was thinking of making a character who's gimmick was poison, disease, that sort of thing. What would give me access to the best spells of that type - druid, wizard or cleric? And what do you all think is the most useful specialied mage type? Is there any point at all to being a transmuter - it seems that the only spells of that type are buffs where there's no point to having better spellcheck rolls.
The point of taking a specialist school is not what school it boosts, but what school you LOSE. Yeah, its backwards. I make all my mages specialists, as you can live without Illusion spells, or you can live without Necro spells etc, while the pay-off of one extra spell at each level is immense (at level 17, its equal to having +18 to your INT in terms of extra spells eeeek!) Transmuter is solid, as is Abjurer and Necromancer.
As for Knockdown... say we make a human monk with INT 8. He gets 2 skillpoints a level. We can put one in Discipline and stockpile the other to get UMD 40 at level 40 Forget Spot, since SO many items have True Sight that people don't even bother hiding in PvP.
I like the IDEA of a poison gimmick, but it would really such in terms of power. Nice for RP of course

The assassin build can poision things. But that's with a dagger attack or similar attack.
Not much poison spells. But there may be some good necromancer spells that might fit your billing.
Necromancer specialist mage would be your best shot.
Many cleric spells are for curing poison and disease, not causing them . Though there may be a few domain spells in there... Clerics can choose domains like good or evil, magic or healing. I'd have to peruse over the spell lists.
Druids might have some similar spells as well. You'd just have to go through and read all the spell descriptions.
A cleric was my first choice, actually. It makes sense that someone who specializes in poison would also have the means to cure poison. Clerics get spells like ironguts, contagion, poison, ect... the only poison related spells they miss out on compared to wizards are some of the area effet spells like withering cloud, I think. Although with the destruction domain they get stinking cloud acid fog
I just wish you could brew potions of poison... why do potions have to be benefitial?
Conversely, a "Plants" domain cleric could do some of that.
Of course, necromancy spells are a lot more powerful than poisons anyhow. If you want that type of character, go for a necromantic wizard or sorcered and just go for enervation, energy drain, curse, etc.
