Oh, yes, the intro Especially the set-up between Bob, the walking arsenal, and the Doctor, with a single big shield I should have used up more points to W to warrant gear like that.

Thanks. Really the juxaposition of the two archetypes is what sells it. That and making the Doctor look better than he really is, we have to find some way of keeping his interest in the game...

Gladiator Semis- Round 2

“Well we seem to be off to a good start. What do you think, Skanky?”

“Kill Jamski! Jamski must die! DEATH TO JAMSKI!!!1”

“Uh, Jamski’s not in this tournament. Haven’t you been paying attention?”

“KILL DOC!! DOC MUST BE SLAIN!!”

(will someone get him another drink to shut him up?!)

Now Spacius and the Ram both adopt defensive postures. The Ram tries a weak strike, but Sir Maximus easily deflects the blow.
Suddenly the Ram explodes in a whirlwind of feints and thrusts. Spacius holds his ground, but clearly the assault is too much for him and he staggers back as a sword pierces him in the ribs. It’s all he can do to take a wild swing at his opponent, which by luck or fate catches the Ram in the arm.
The blow does, however, set the Ram off-balance yet again as he hops on one foot trying not to fall over. Spacius recovers and makes a quick yet powerful thrust that misses just as the Ram tumbles over once more, out of harms way.

The Ram takes 8 points of damage, which puts him at 96. Meanwhile Spaced takes 18 damage and falls to 89.

Gladiator Semis- Round 2

As the other two, Bob and the Doc start out in a defensive stance. Then Bob runs headlong towards the Doc, flashing his sword. As he reaches him he bolts off to his left. The Doc matches him pace for pace, keeping his shield between the two of them. Suddenly Bob swings at hard strike from the left, which the Doc glances off with his shield. At the same time he reaches behind him and hurls a javelin which strikes squarely in the Doc’s thigh.

Bob pauses and plants himself, pulling up his crossbow for a shot- but he was a fraction of a second too slow. With a grunt of pain, the Doctor yanked the javelin out of his leg, leaped at Bob and smashed it over his head, sending the bowshot into the sand and giving the northern wanderer a ring in his head for the second time, and possibly a concussion.

The Doctor takes 14 damage and is at 82 hps. Bob takes 15 damage and finds himself at 65.

14. The second portion will consist of a knockout competition of matches, with combat similar to the round-robin but instead it is to the death. Winners of the Semis advance to the final.
