  • Civ Boardgame.

The civ boardgame. I ran across it in a gamesstore and thought wow I want it right now. Unfortunately I didn't have enough money to purchase it at that point so I walked out of the store ever so said.

My question to you guys is, is the game worth buying? What some of its really cool features? How hard is it to pick up etc? Mini reviews I'm basically looking at. I would much appreciate it if you guys out there could help me with this.

I do realise that there is a forum for this but yeah its pretty dead as far as I can tell and besides much more traffic comes through here anyways....

Sooooo feedback on the civ boardgame?

It's interesting. Not the best board game ever, but good if you are playing with other people who like Civ. Learning curve if meh but not too bad.

Which one? The one based on the computer game or the one published by AH?

Why not playing it again Andemagne? Because of the length of the game or something else entirely?

The Sid Meier boardgame is entertaining without being excessively challenging. It reminds me of other games full of plastic models like Shogun and Fortress America. If you have a group of friends into boardgaming it will be worth the money, especially if they like Civ too.

Conversely, the AH Civilisation is one of the best boardgames of all time

That's what happens when forums get set up for games that don't get talked about too much. Now if they made a forum dedicated exclusively to forum games, that would be viable and we could absorb back the boardgame and paradox forums

it was good, but not that good, not worth my time. too long, too simple. your success lies too heavily on getting good resources. rules not clear all the time.
