How about: if you use your special power, A happens, unless someone with a name starting with the second letter of the alphabet also uses their power, in which case B happens. If more than one does then C D E F G and H all have a 1d6 chance of occuring. If C or D the person you target must make a will save, or be eliminated. If E or F it's a reflex save, though they only need to make it if power resistance is insufficient. If G or H they make a fortitude save or bear the consequences of you power for 2 game turns.
