Because I had to look it up, as I wasn't sure of the word. The guys would never let me forget it if I guessed a word that didn't exist.

Well if we have a rule it's an unwritten one against trawling the dictionary for possible words, rather than looking one possible word up. But in this case I can't claim to have known this word, it was just a nagging feeling.
Hehe, I'm intrigued to see if anyone will get it. It's a fantastic choice.
