  • Best of the NES

Got the idea from Ludd's SNES thread. Too many games I can't think of to make a poll.

    Super Mario Brothers series
    Legend of Zelda
    Final Fantasy I
    Tecmo Bowl
    Ultima series
    Metroid

There are probably a lot more good ones I can't think of.

    Super Mario Bros 3.
    Excitebike
    Kid Icarus
    Ducktales
    Little Nemo
    Super Dodgeball
    Castlevania II and III
    Ninja Gaiden
    Gunsmoke

    and of course....

    RIVER CITY RANSOM!!!
Despot-(1a) : a ruler with absolute power and authority (1b) : a person exercising power tyrannically
Beyond Alpha Centauri-Witness the glory of Sheng-ji Yang

      It's been so long...

I remember enjoying Zelda, Dragon Warrior, Final Fantasy, Duck hunt, Mario Brothers and Double Dragon...

That's all that comes to mind.

EDIT: Oh wait, and some other game.... it was military themed and had a top down view. P.O.W. perhaps? I can't remember the name.

          Super Mario Bros.
          River City Ransom
          Metroid
          Legend of Zelda

I had so many others, but those four stand out the most.

I have a 14 year old NES and it still works, despite almost getting ruined when my dad's apartment got flooded in April of 97.

General Ludd, If that is a stratagy war-game I think you are talking about PTO: Pacific Theatre of Operations.

Not a strategy, a shooter /action type deal, only top-down istead of side scrolling.

OOH, much tougher than the SNES thread.

                            Lets see:

                            Final Fantasy
                            Zelda
Dragon Warrior I-IV (personal favorite by far was III)
                            Crystalis
                            Destiny of an Emperor
                            MT's Punch Out
                            SMB 1-3
                            Castlevania1-3
                            Baseball Stars
                            contra
                            Life Force
                            Blades of Steel

                            hmmm

                            I'm sure I;'m missing some...

Ha, Contra was amazingly strange and weird.

It's tackiness and its voice acting put Duke Nukem and Accolade to shame for employing the best technology at the time and showing just how terrible it really was
