The Battle of Smew

Spaced Cowboy struck at last, sending his mighty fleets to plunder the empire of Trokair. Trokair was waiting for him behind the huge artifical moon of Smew and battle was joined.

Spaced Cowboy : (Lasers->Torps->Fighters->Lasers->Fighters->Torps Close in.)
12 Lasertitans, 6 Fightertitans, and 6 Torpedotitans

Trokair : (Lasers->Torpedoes->Fighter->Fighter->Torpedoes->Lasers)
7 Lasertitans, 7 Fightertitans, and 8 Torpedotitans

Trokair's fleet allowed Spaced to close in before opening fire with lasers. This was exactly what Spaced had hoped for, as he lead the way with his own laser-armed Titan-class ships, and he had a round dozen of these behemoths to Trokair's mere seven. Out gunned nearly 2 to 1, Trokair's ships took a close range hammering.
Near equality in fighters and torpedoes forced the laser fire to cease for a moment, and allowed Trokair to exploit a small advantage to retaliate. Seeing his ships taking damage, and his fighters and torpedoes getting slowly slaughtered, Spaced calmly ordered his laser batteries to fire again, this time at even closer range.
Spaced's lasers shredded his own fighters and Trokair's fighters alike, before concentrating their fire one at a time upon the Titans of the defending fleet. At that range Spaced's total disregard for his own pilots carried the battle. Trokair himself was killed as his flagship exploded, and his fleet was soon wiped from existance for ever. Spaced's marine troops began their landing operations, and his empire was expanded at the cost of another would-be Overlord's life.

Note - the half-base that Trokair was sharing with Skanky is now entirely Skanky's. I was going to give it to Spaced, but since he's not allied with Skanky, they can't share a base.

Orders for round 10 are awaited.

Depends on how much trust people have in Ljcvetko after his backstabbings. Then we could see a grand alliance...

Or Spaced could get REALLY unlucky

That is okay Spikey, I went through the same thing with Jamski. first there is anger, then respect, it just takes a while.

I'd like to see another alliance with LL. Go ahead Skanky, set up the deal.

Hehe, I'm not angry; one lucky GO attack doesn't make up for the gladiators final where you called me your beyatch before being completely outplayed and defeated.

The forum games are widespread now, with lots of players. I'm just sending the signal that I will hold grudges, and across games too. It's a rational response.

And I'm saying that I will not hold a grudge across a game unless I am betrayed (LL's move for example). Regular attacks, here or in Glad don't count for grudges in my book. In other words I expect to be attacked in gladiator, and in here if you are not my ally.

I think I know how this will play out.

LL will tell Skanky he'll join the attack on me, but just send Skanky in for a broiling, and attack Vlad instead. Then he mops up the survivors.
