  • I played Ghosts 'n' Goblins and if I remember correctly it was a relatively recent game, though I don't know if it had any sequel.

    Ghosts 'n' Goblins 2 perhaps

    • The sequel was called Ghouls and Ghosts IIRC. Warmer in genre terms than the earlier guesses, but still wrong.

      • Aaargh? That was a pretty late game...

or there was what was widely regarded as the ultimate platform game, but i think it came out on the BBC first - then got ported to other platforms like the Spectrum/Amstrad/C64.

As a complete OT remark i played M.U.L.E last night for the first time in oh.....13 years or so, it was on my PC running a C64 emulator.

It was good(but my girlfriend wasn't impressed! - spoilt with Morrowind on xbox i think ), but if that is a real representation of the C64 version, the Atari 8bit had a much better graphical and musical version. Ah the old Atari.......may it rest in peace

              • May I stress once again how late in the Spectrum era this game was. It was not released in the 80s.

New clue: You were being taken somewhere you didn't want to go by some captors, but you escaped using a parachute on the flight. Now you must fight your way home.

[knowing this is probably an 80's game ]

                  • IIRC it was, and is hence, perhaps unsurprisingly, incorrect.

                        • Surely every game in the nineties on the Speccy had at least an ST/Amiga version?

                          • Well it's very early 90s, and I never saw an Amiga version, but a quick check reveals Buck is in fact correct.

I'm not sure it will help you much though.

                              • No. It's a real platformer, no other game elements.
