As it is fairly long ago that I played CTP, could you enlighten me which ones you refer to?

You should be able to pick out the jungle and just be able to see all the forest.

Jesus, was it looking so different?

I must say, I am so used to the new design, that (sorry to say) my suggestion would be: leave it as it is. Visual difference might be needed

There is not much deferens apart from the grassland at the bottom that it could be done. I loaded up the mountains into ctp2 last night and apart form the grassland I was hard pushed to see ant graphical deferens.

I think I am going to have to pm E I really liked his swamp terrain (it will do for marsh forests.).

PM? I'm always cruising stuff on terrain graphics, even though I've been lazy on updating my tilesets. What you need?

go for it. yeah they were complete.

by the way I was thinking about adding C3C Sn00py's water tiles since they look good and have water shelves...but I see the work you are doing and would like to see it in the game.

bytheway here is a screen shot how Sn00py's stuff looks:

                  Just had a look at.

Looks good, but shows again one thing I didn't like in CIV3:

It is hard to spot the grid in use, meaning it is easy to misclick or move units to the wrong spot.

Its a weird one but even though i guess technically the graphics of Civ3 are better than CTP2 - i like CTP2's best, can't quite put my finger on why exactly.......they just look more like computer graphics to me? Or is it that cow-sh*t yellow Civ3 uses for grass

Maq book me a room in 'Beaver country' will you(ref the screen shot!)
I like the idea of using/adapting TI's from CTP - we might as well use all the CTP resources we can(if we're allowed?)

                      Civ3's graphics are utter crap.

Sn00py's graphics rock your socks off. I'd love to see many/most of them used in CtP2, but I dont' think he has any underwater terrain

Yeah, cause we were all wondering why you mentioned it, and anyway do i look like a pimp? dont answer.

Its not hard to change terrains, its getting totally new ones to work with existing ones that would be monumental. I tried to convert to civ3 ones once but the beach tiles worked in a totally different way so i had to create new images (not just converting), i wouldnt even attempt to redo all the beach tiles again. Some of those snoopy mountains (not in the screenshot) are superb, but theres no point in any of it if it doesnt fit in right with the rest.

You're absolutely right. It won't work unless it all blends together nicely. Ideally we should probably just redesign all the terrain from scratch to ensure it's all consistent, but that's a huge undertaking and probably required someone as skilled as Sn00py or Morgoth. Hex might be able to pull it off, but I'm sure he has better things to do.
