  • First Three Phases Of Project?

I suggest that we have three official phases to this project:

Phase 1. Fix all major "bugs" in single player, multiplayer, pbem, and hotseat -- without making any "improvements" to the game, or changes to the existing artificial intelligence.

Phase 2. Vote on and make "improvements" to the existing game. (Note that one person's "improvement" may be a "totally unrealistic, ridiculous, or unnecessary extension of the game" to another person.)

Phase 3. Create three distinctly different artificial intelligence personalities/players that play well without using any unfair aids (i.e. without cheating).

    --- Just a suggestion.

I don't think we should restrict the first phase on bug fixing, aslo little new features should be added like the Neptun world. Actual that was just copying some buttons and modifying some functions behind it.

And sometimes you can't decide wheather this is a bug fix or a new feature, for example no tile improvement construction sound was in CTP1 but not in CTP2 actual a new feature that they forgot to implement but not a bug fix. Or no diplo pictures also not a bug per se. Well as long as you don't call unimplemented functions bugs. But it was very easy to implement these two or three features.

Thanks, Martin. Those changes that you mention sound reasonable to me in Phase 1. When I talk about "improvements", I'm referring to altering the game files to "improve" some aspect that is already a functioning and working part of the game. For example -- changing the goods values that each tile produces; or changing the production costs of buildings. If these type of "improvements" are to be done, I think a vote by the community would be in order -- and maybe move those improvement type changes to Phase 2 instead of Phase 1.
