  • GENERAL: C++ books

    I made this thread to give the programming newbies a good advice on what litterature there is available. Feel free to add your best C++ book


    Eckel, Bruce: Thinking in C++, 2nd ed.
    I want to recommend this book for beginners even though its boring to tears. The author is clearly and old C programmer converted to C++ and seems to think that C is the best way to explain C++.
    Despite of that the book gives a good walkthrough of C++ and best of all its freely available on the web.

        thanks - i've just spent about £60 on two books;

        'Code Complete' by Steve McConnell
        +
        'Tricks of the Windows game programming Guru's' by Andre LaMothe

        So i was looking for a good one on C++, cheers guys

            Im not sure what Baruk Khazad is , but if they speak Judeo-Dwarvish, that would be "blessed are the dwarves" - lord of the mark
