  • PROJECT-> Bug Tracking System: Which one?

Suggest a Bug Tracking System that could make bug tracking/fixing much easier.

Please, post only if you had a previous experience with a bug tracking system before.

Preferably free services/software or custom made solutions.
In the latter mention the suggested platform as well.

Please, include a description and the reasoning behind your suggestion, and link(s) to the developer/service, if any.

The only BTS that has been proposed thus far is bugzilla.

I will try to build a custom one for our needs on the PHP/MySQL platform and see if that would be a better solution than bugzilla. If you know how to work PHP and MySQL together let me know, in case I need some help.

            Thats quite an ambitius project.
Well i have some experience in that field and if you have any specific problems it cant hurt to ask
I do think you will be much better off by just using Bugzilla and be done with it though.

If it is because Apolyton dont want perl code on their server then just say the word, plenty of other places to go ask for serverspace for this purpose.

Keygen i don't think what developing of our own bug tracking system will be most effective use of our resources.

We can use one of freely available and fully developed systems.

One of such systems is Zentrack, the system is developed in PHP/Mysql.

I usually just lurk here (not enough time to dive into the code), but maybe I can give some advice on this matter.

A while ago I briefly experimented with Mantis (http://mantisbt.sourceforge.net/) and wasn't too bad. And it's written in PHP.
A lot bug tracking software is listed at Freshmeat (http://freshmeat.net/browse/846/?topic_id=846).

It's probably better to use an existing product and focus on the CTP source
