    1) make backup copy of your ctp2 game (copy and pase the whole lot into another folder with diffeent name (eg ActivisionAA).
    2) open the AOM zip file, copy and paste every folder into a handy folder on your computer, eg on desktop.
    2) copy and paste the contents of each AOM folder into the same folder in your ctp2 game. Overwrite if prompted.

    • PS, only I only use the win XP zip program and you can get the conets out by copy and paste.

        • Take the folders on the CD that I sent you
          - ctp2_program
          - ctp2_data

and place them in the folder on your hard drive that contains
          - ctp2_program
          - ctp2_data

On my installation that folder that contains
          - ctp2_program
          - ctp2_data
          is called
          - Call To Power II

(This may be due to the fact that I did a custom installation when I installed ctp2 on my system)

          It may be called
          - Call To Power 2
          on your setup

All of the files you need are in those 2 folders
          - ctp2_program
          - ctp2_data
and the folders on the CD are set up in the same directory structure as the installation.

Same process for the diplo update...

          • Thank you for your help! Will let you know how it works out. Also will add reports on game play on AOM forums. Im playing a playtest version now for practice. Will load Ages of Man along with fresh install of CTP2 as AOM is not compatiable with code updates.
            Thanks again.

              • stankarp,

I've been doing some playtesting with te stuff you sent me and with te apolyton edition. Game works great but there are a few missing text for the new tabs and buttons so I got to check that out to make it compatible.

                • Bit curious, they are in my game, so it must have something to do with the playtest.

                  • The playtest adds a few new tabs and buttons, so they turn up blank when I play AoM

On a idenote I tried adding the ldl that was missing to AoM and then it would not start, I got this for my crash.txt

                      • The playtest has AI to AI diplomacy working. Something that was not happening in the release version of CtP2. AI,s fighting till they were easy targets for human player. Now the AI,s can change production to improving there empire and as a result have higher scores My test of late have shown AI factions will go to war about 40 turns and sign a cease fire.
Ages of Man has a improved Diplomod . Will this confict with code changes ?

                        • Thank you stankarp for the update you e-mailed me.
Cant wait to try the invasion code also diplomacy updates.
Now that im finished with practice game can get into AOM . Have two coumputors so playtesting of code updates is on one while AOM will be on the other.
Feel CtP2 is just reaching its peak. I have posted that Ages of Man is a perfect replacement for those who cant play Civ4 for one reason or the other and also want a game that is more for the mature gamer(Eu2-Hearts of Iron2) and now AOM.

                            • Protra,

AoM should be compatible with the playtest. All I did was install ctp2, used the modmanager for AoM, then extracted the Playtest over it. The only other thing I did was copy the profile.txt from AoM back over the playtest one, although I'm not sure this was necessary. Currently i did something to mess my AoM up but it was working no problems before (well it crashed sometimes but loading an autosave brought it back).

this weekendI intend to have it running again so I finish testing the new code (I'm a bit slow because I create new civ3 units each time I get a ctp2 graphic one for my eventual AoM civ3 graphics mod)

                              • I want to finish two other things before releasing the final version of AOM. Co-ordinated ai attacks and a working ai/human alliance code.

It would save time if anyone had an AOM game that they had got a diplomatic alliance with anyone. If they could email that game to me at.

I can use it to test my working alliance code.
