===============
So I had this idea a couple of weeks ago thinking it would be quite easy, very time consuming (not a problem for me right now), but certainly a one man job... I was wrong
Certainly I cant do the events by myself, I had planned to document everything in order from the events.txt's used in the civ2 scenario and work from there, but I still have the problem of learning a little more about the way events.txt works (checked the thread where Peter explains it somewhat but cant find a copy of the manual, I know one exists) so i can read it quickly. But this isnt an immediate concern.
I decided to start with the terrain and sprites, since I know what im doing (somewhat) and its the biggest job after scripting and testing, both of which I cant approach yet anyway without a working save to test on. Since the sourcecode project is in full swing now, theres no one to help me with the events either.
Also because of the sourcecode I was sure it would be best to wait until theres a concrete version from the project to work on the scenario with, instead of using 1.11 and find all the work lost.
This will be a long term project, the thread is to push me along and keep working on it, receive any feedback, and maybe even garner some help.
Heres something to whet your appetite:
