  • Stupid noob's MedMod not working

Hello everybody, I'm the moronic noob of the day with a stupid problem. I dunno which section of the CtP2 forum to post this, but I'm having trouble with Medieval Pack 2, so I assume this goes with Mods.

Whenever I open ModSwapper, it only shows the original game. Now, I realize there's a troubleshooting file along with the mod, and it suggests for this sort of problem, I quote:

"This usually means that you have an outdated version of Winzip, one that does not support pathing. If you open up your Ctp folder, and see about a hundred files in it, then you know this is your problem. Installing a new version of Winzip should correct this. After installing Winzip, simply unzip the mod components into the Ctp folder once again."

The problem is, I don't have an outdated WinZip. There were no hundreds of files in the Call to Power 2 folder, they were all neatly in their ctp2_data etc. folders. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, can someone explain what to do? I'm new at CtP2 modding, I'm not sure if I'm somehow not using ModSwapper correctly. It should be a simple task of unzipping in the CtP2 folder and running ModSwap, so I dunno what's going haywire.

Oh yeah, and if this has something to do with the DebugSlic text: I went to change it from Yes to No like the readme told me to, but it was already written No. Is this normal? Anyway, if anyone can help, I'd really appreciate it.

Check in particular whether you have the file:

    [Your CTP2 folder]\ctp2_data\default\gamedata\MM_gamefile.txt

That's the file which ModSwapper is looking for. If it's not there, then something has gone wrong with the unzipping. If it is there, then something has gone wrong with ModSwapper.

I was having this problem, also. I finally realized the unzip had gone wrong. The files were in a second "ctp2_data" folder, created inside the original "ctp2_data" folder. When I moved everything back one step, into the original folders, ModSwapper (actually ModManager in my case) was able to find "MM_gamefile.txt".
