  • Altering CitySize*.txt

I want to make it so a city, when founded, has a border of 2 (like an unmodded city pop 7-18) but NOT vision of 2 only a vision of 1, and has max workers of 21. The border will always be 2 and the max workers will always be 21 but city styles will change 4 times, so theyll be 4 different city size style sprites. The number at which the styles change is 4, 9, 14 and 20.

Basically what i want is a city like in civ2.

I keep changing the citysize*.txt files for every difficulty but its just not having it, in most cases i see no change at all

Okay well i figured out how to settle and grow properly but when my city is say, size 32, i cant make it only have 21 workers available, can i? No matter what i set it to, it always has the same amount of workers as the pop.

EDIT: Okay i worked it out (i think), if i have only a max workers of 21 in citysize.txts, and the pop is (for example) 32, it still has 32 workers available, but every worker after 21 gives nothing in COLLECTING resources, BUT the ones after 21 can be added as SPECIALISTS, and take away nothing from resource collection but add in their given area of specialization. Excellent, just what i wanted

I like your changes Maq, IIUC that means you restricted the radius from growing so huge?

It means when you found a city it has a radius of 2 and that never changes. It also means that even if the city grows beyond size 21 you will only ever have 21 citizens collectings resources, but the rest can be allocated to specialists. But the other changes to growth will mean you hardly ever reach pop 21 without specializing growth.

        Anyway, im enjoying experimenting
