Where can you find a list on features in the different mods? I can only find general information about those mods, and based on those information I don't see any interesting mods

I'm looking for a mod that just adds some more general stuff to the game (I don't want to play a game where the one age takes 50% of the game)... And I don't want the mods to remove stuff from the games. I hate the craddle mod because it removes most Civs and adds tons of civs I have never heard of... Only played 1000 years of so before I got bored...

The readme files are your best bet if you want detailed info.

But it sounds you might like the MedMod best: covers all ages (and they come and go pretty fast) and adds lots of stuff. The downside is that the AI isn't quite as good as that of Cradle or SAP (militarily anyway).

Call to Conquest Mod is enjoyable, there isnt many basic things changed, just a few units IIRC (edit: and you can only win by conquest...), and the AI is rather good, i think.

Ok thx, I'll take a look at those mods... I didn't even consider the MedMod. Because of it's name I assumed it mostly added stuff for the medieval age...

I just installed the MedMod, but gets an error when starting a new game:

          SLIC ERROR
(...) Advance_Monarchy not found in Advance DB

This goes on for several governments...

            Check if:

            1) you have patch v1.11 installed
            2) you have DebugSlic set to No in userprofile.txt in the folder ctp2_program\ctp
            3) the file MM2_advance.txt is present in the folder ctp2_data\default\gamedata (if not, the files were probably extracted to the wrong location, see if you can find MM2_advance.txt elsewhere on your PC and move all files from that location to the correct place in the ctp2 folder structure)

hmmm not that helpful as i guess you've done it :

"Q53 I've installed Ctp2, Modswapper and a mod - Now I'm looking for userprofile.txt to change DebugSlic into No. It's not there!
A53 You have to run Ctp2 and start one game at least once in order for the file to be created. Then you end Ctp2 and change the file like advised and you're all set."

                ?
It took me a while to get it all working with the mods etc........your not running XP are you?

The OS shouldn't be a problem AFAIK. I use WinXP as well, and if Cradle works, there's no reason why MedMod shouldn't.

Hmm, I heard of this problem before and didn't know the solution then either. So I did a clean reinstall of CtP2, ModSwapper and MedMod (re-downloaded all relevant files from the Directory), but I could not recreate the problem myself, everything worked perfectly. The only potential problem I encountered was that after extracting the MedMod, some files had ended up in ctp2_data\ctp2_data\default\gamedata (and same for the english folder) instead of ctp2_data\default\gamedata (so twice ctp2_data instead of once). You could double-check to make sure you don't have 2 ctp2_data folders.

Failing that, Alt-Tab out of the game while it's running (or if that's not possible, immediately after it crashed) and see what the 9th entry in the file ctp2_data/default/gamedata/gamefile.txt is: this should be MM2_advance.txt. If it's anything else, post it here. Also, the file MM2_advance.txt should be in the same folder, double-check that as well if the entry is correct.

I take it you *are* using ModSwapper?

The problem is that Wes did not updated the Tutorial slic files, he removed certain advances from the text files but did not do the same thing for the tutorial slic files. Therefore the solution is not to play on the easy levels of difficuilties. Start on Medium and you get also ruins and random opponents.

Interesting...........we should stick this in the FAQ, does it only happen with MedMod?
