Request for a space layer mod

Congrats all you modders for your excellent work. I've been away for a few months, but I'm about to take on the Apoly mod and it looks great.

I was wondering... is there a way through slic editing to insert a space layer like there was on CtP1?

No, not a chance in hell.

Your best shot would be to reimplement it in the source code, but that would probably be a huge undertaking as it's a major addition and there's no code of the old layer left (and the old one was very unbalancing and buggy as well, so it'd have to be redesigned from scratch anyway). Could take a while, especially since it's not our first priority (if we're gonna do it at all).

but i do REALLY!! hope that it is done, even if it means tottaly redesigning

CTP1 space was more of an atmosphere layer anyway
but i liked it

Locutus any chance of having a discussion In the other forum. See how many people want the space layer. I could do some graphics for it if it is a popular idea eg alternate space citys.

On the other hand, in the future, when we move into space in a major way, asteroids will doubtlessly be one of the best sources of raw materials for manufacturing and engineering in space. It happens that asteroids are easier to get to than the surface of the Moon. So, when colonies are built in space, they will be built using materials mined from asteroids. Also, humans in space need water and we can mine this from comets. Of course, I am looking 50 years or more into the future, but obviously there are two sides to asteroids and comets. In some ways they are dangerous. In other ways, they will be beneficial in the future
