  • I was able to borrow some time on a computer and promptly got tilededit and my tilefile and did a quick update by adding new river graphics, changed the hills to look more hilly since that was a complaint, and kind of did the railroads.

Please post a screenshot if you try it because I dont have access to ctp2 and would like to see if i need to make a changes to these graphics (if I get another chance)

    thanks...

    • Your zip file contains the wrong tile file i think. Only 565 can work by itself IIRC. At least i tried it and got the error.

          • No need to dig, just use TileEdit to convert it to the right format. That is: open it, select 'save' and press 'OK' twice
Visit my CTP-page and get TileEdit and a few other CTP related programs.

                • A couple of things i noticed. First the kelp still looks blurry (1st shot), but i guess you settled on that now. Second, the border on the glacier there looks too straight (3rd shot). Third the tundra beach border looks a bit weird (4th shot).

                  • THanks Maq...those are other issues I'll address, but I guess the rivers and new hills look good enough unless there is something I cant see in the screen shot.

I also intend doing a cradle-friendly version where the "worker TIs" are actually finished TIs

                    • Absolutely the rivers fit better and hills look good now.

Another thing that does niggle me a bit is the strong contrast of the tundra detail compared to the new tiles. Its like the original ctp2 tiles were all very strong colours and dark. The civ3 ones are paler and generally contain less detail. If you dont know what im talking about then it probably isnt a problem.

                        • updated again! THis time I'm redoing the borders instead of making the tiles big. let me know what you think and if you spot any errors.

                          • Looks mostly great, but the sea, hills, and some desert tiles still look a bit squarish. Another minor issue, is that some of the grassland tiles with trees on can be a little hard to distingwish at a first glance from the forest tiles with few trees on. But I guess it's only untill I get used to it.

                            Great work
