    SUGGESTIONS FOR A CHAT SYSTEM?

(17 May 2000, 19:32 EST) It's really encouranging when you have developers answer questions on the forums. People get useful information on the details that really make the differences, beyond the generic previews and the even more generic official pages. It's even better when developers ask for suggestions. Osco wondered about the chat system of CTP2 in multiplayer games. "Actigrammer" Mr Ogre replied with a question: "What games do you think have really good chat systems?" Sounds like there is room for suggestions to me. Answer the question on the forum!

    PBEM CUT EXPLANATION

(1 November 2000, 18:46 EST) Last Friday a soon-to-be-heated discussion concerning PBEM's cut from CTPII has received a response from Activision. Pyaray, a software engineer at the company who has been most active on our forums in the first week since he registered, admitted his own reluctance to respond to this matter in the past but given it's recent 'hot topic' status, addressed it this afternoon.

"The reason it was cut, and yes it was cut recently, was because of insurmountable bugs. There were a lot of really horrendous bugs that quite frankly we didn't know how to fix in the amount of time we have. We would rather ship a really solid good game than add more features that make it not solid, and buggy.

Would we like this feature in the game? Yes, we would. But frankly I don't know if it will happen or not. It was a difficult decision to make (I wasn't the one who made it, but everyone was involved to some degree), but the decision we made was what we thought was best for the game as a whole."
