Apolyton doesn't really work

I've installed the Apolyton edition and i'm afraid it isn't working properly. Firstly the intro movie doesn't show up, CTP just minimizes and i have to re-maximize it, then it plays the sound but not the video itself. Next when i get to the menu screen the cursor does not show up and can only see it when it is hovering over a button. This continues into the game itself which makes it much harder to play. Help?
